CHANGING THE WAY STUDENTS SEE COUNTERFEITS

"I told many of my friends in my sorority (about 30) and all of their responses when I informed them of where the proceeds for counterfeits go, were shocked and I could tell they were really thinking twice about all the products they have bought previously."

  • After the campaign, 79% of Ohio State students agreed buying counterfeits is wrong.
  • An impressive 14,000 banners and signs were displayed in very heavily trafficked areas of the Miami campus during the campaign.
  • More than 1,100 Miami students signed a petition to not by counterfeits.
  • 1,314 students joined Miami's Don't Fake It Facebook group.
  • At Ohio State, before implementation of the campaign kicked off, the 40 students participating the planning class spread the word about counterfeits with approximately 413 family members or friends alone. Most said they were shocked!
  • 400 students attended Howard University's special events raising awareness of counterfeiting.
