Section Title IACC Report Fakes
In July 2004, a federal jury in Houston convicted Chinese national Zheng Xiao Yi, of trafficking in counterfeit merchandise, including electrical extension and power cords that bore counterfeit UL certification marks. Alarmingly, none of the seized electrical cords passed the Underwriters Laboratories tests required to earn the UL certification mark and actually burst into flames when tested under normal household conditions.
