Counterfeiting is big business.
It is estimated that counterfeiting is a $600 billion a year problem. In fact, the World Customs Organization estimates that between five and seven percent of all goods traded on the global market are counterfeit. In New York City alone, people buy $23 billion annually in counterfeit goods. Research shows this money often supports organized crime, drug trafficking, child labor and terrorist activity.
The International Anticounterfeiting Coalition, comprised of members from a broad range of businesses and industries, is dedicated to the battle against product counterfeiting and piracy.
With your help, we can educate consumers on why they should "Get Real."
