Company Description

Founded in 2001, AlpVision has grown to become the world’s leading provider of authentication technologies. Currently those technologies authenticate over 10 billion pieces of product a year with no detected counterfeits. AlpVision provides extensive protection to brands in the pharmaceutical, tobacco, footwear, wine and spirits, luxury goods, and cosmetic industries. In addition, AlpVision serves to protect government and value documents. Headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland AlpVision has regional offices in the United States and Shanghai supporting the implementation of the technology worldwide. AlpVision will tailor turnkey solutions to the needs of the individual customer. We have extensive experience working with our customers’ print supplier to install and produce our technologies. Additionally, our detection software has been integrated with a wide variety of our customers’ proprietary data systems or applications. All AlpVision’s authentication technologies use smartphones for detection. A regular iPhone equipped with AlpVision’s custom product authentication application can also be used to verify the authenticity of a package or product. Working in real-time, verification usually takes less than 3 seconds, including time to pick up the item and position the iPhone over it. The application is also a powerful tool to perform market studies, announce product releases, promotional discounts, and upcoming news and events. AlpVision's mobile authentication solution is currently available on the iPhone and Android; other mobile operating systems available upon request. What follows is a brief description of our technologies. For more information please visit our website : Cryptoglyph® AlpVision Cryptoglyph® is the only security feature in the world that applies an invisible or covert marking to cartons, leaflets, labels, and blister packs using regular visible ink or varnish and standard printing processes. AlpVision Cryptoglyph is a digital invisible marking that is applied to cartons, leaflets, labels, closures, blister packs and metal using regular visible ink or varnish and standard printing processes (offset, rotogravure, flexo, laser, inkjet, etc.). Simple and industry proven, AlpVision Cryptoglyph protects billions of products across industries worldwide. It is commercialized under license agreements as an entirely customizable turnkey computerized system. AlpVision Fingerprint AlpVision Fingerprint is a unique and breakthrough covert anti-counterfeit solution that tracks and authenticates mass produced objects manufactured by molding, stamping, rolling, and tooling. This solution applies to a wide variety of molded parts, including bottles and caps, electrical appliances, mechanical parts, imaging supplies, and most plastic molded products available on the market today. It can also be applied to tooled items like watches. With no changes to the standard molding practices, AlpVision Fingerprint leverages the intrinsic microscopic surface irregularities found in a mold and uses these unique characteristics as the means of authentication (as opposed to adding safety features.) While AlpVision Fingerprint cannot provide a complete track and trace system, this software solution can identify the original mold cavity, help locate the equipment manufacturer, and determine the approximate production date. Therefore, agents in the supply chain will be less likely to smuggle molded parts to counterfeiters. Smart Embossing To provide an overt, customer verifiable security feature AlpVision has developed our Smart Embossing Technology. It is an overt topographic security feature that works through the optical reconstruction of 3-D topography. This feature is verifiable visually by the end consumer and can be authenticated using a smart phone. An embossing cylinder imparts a 3-d pattern, unique to the customer, into a metal hot stamped surface on the product label or carton. The pattern is a
