IACC U.S. Law Enforcement IP Training Summary

Honolulu, Hawaii – San Diego, California – Oakbrook, Illinois

November 4, 2019

The IACC recently conducted several training events under the U.S. Law Enforcement IP Training Program for Federal, State and local law enforcement.

Three trainings were held in Honolulu Hawaii; at the Port Office on Ala Moana Blvd, the CBP Mail Branch Facility on Nimitz Highway, and the CBP International Arrivals Area at Honolulu Airport. These events consisted of practical training for over 70 law enforcement personnel from CBP, HSI and Import Specialists assigned throughout Hawaii on the latest product lines and known counterfeits of the 10 brands in attendance.

Training was held in San Diego, California for CBP and local law enforcement with 85 officers and 43 brands participating.Presentations were provided by brands discussing recent investigations and officers providing information on their experiences.

The IACC also participated in the CCROC (Cook County Regional Organized Crime) annual law enforcement conference in Oakbrook, IL. Each year, the conference brings together over 500 law enforcement personnel from the local, state and federal sectors for Illinois and the 10 surrounding states for the two-day training, information and networking event. This year, CCROC included multiple brand holders with displays of genuine and counterfeit goods to train and inform officials about the harms associate with counterfeit goods.

In total, the IACC enabled 85 brands to train over 650 law enforcement personnel.

These events are part of the IACC’s U.S. Law Enforcement IP Training Program that provides law enforcement throughout the country with up to date information and insight drawn from brand experts, enabling them to act strategically in the detection and seizure of counterfeit goods.
