The Johnson & Johnson Global Brand Protection team is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Global Brand Protection, Johnson & Johnson Vision.It is preferred that the position be based in Jacksonville, Florida.California or potentially other US locations are also a possibility.

The Global Brand Protection (GBP) organization is responsible for delivering end-to-end protection to safeguard patients, consumers, eye care professionals, the integrity of our brands and our business.The position reports into the Director, Global Brand Protection, Medical Devices.

GBP is a business discipline which provides expertise to proactively combat these concerns with our business partners.The eye care market is often impacted by counterfeit, diversion and other fraud across the world.The GBP program’s mission is to proactively protect patients and our business from counterfeit, diversion and other illicit trade.Critical to the successful execution of this mission, the Sr. Manager, Global Brand Protection will lead and support the GBP program for Johnson and Johnson Vision global franchise with responsibility for driving strategy and ensuring consistent execution

Key Responsibilities:

Assesses, develops and implements processes, programs, and policies to help proactively protect our patients, eye care professionals, business and the reputation of our brands from counterfeit, illegal diversion and tampering, and to provide a safe and secure supply chain for JJV products.

This function is primarily focused on supply chain integrity thereby dedicated to measures that help ensure genuine and authorized products reach JJV, patients, customers and consumers, through authorized channels.This individual will lead and support cross-functional and regional brand protection strategies and related deliverables and projects.

The Senior Manager will engage with the Johnson & Johnson Vision and Global Brand Protection team, including in the regions, to develop, leverage and implement strategic initiatives primarily in, but not limited to the following areas:

  • JJV GBP Franchise Program Leadership:Drive global strategy and ensure consistent execution to proactively protect our patients, ECP’s, brand reputation and our business from illicit trade.
  • JJV GBP Stakeholder Engagement: This position involves strong collaboration with cross functional and regional stakeholders to develop and execute the JJV Brand Protection business plan in alignment with business priorities and Enterprise Global Brand Protection team strategy.
  • Global Market Monitoring: Proactively identify and act on threats to minimize impact to patients and JJV by acting on data analytics, leveraging internet monitoring, serialization and product protection technologies.
  • Global Incident Management: As incidents of counterfeiting, tampering, and diversion are reported to Business Quality, the Senior Manager will partner with the business and Global Security as a subject matter expert within the Business Quality led cross-functional incident management teams,The Senior Manager shall also follow the Global Brand Protection Incident Resolution Process (IRP) to analyze and prioritize incident data to identify actions to mitigate risk.In addition, the Senior Manager will record the estimated financial impact of illicit trade as well as the projected revenue recovered from counter-measures and update scorecards.
  • Partner with the business to implement Global Brand Protection endorsed Safe & Secure Supply Chain Best Practices, assess vulnerabilities end to end, and identify solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Play a lead role with Johnson & Johnson Vision, and provide a support role to the Global Brand Protection Technology and Innovation group, to provide coordination of the implementation of brand protection technology capabilities and solutions.The technology focus areas are concentrated into product protection, market monitoring (market surveys, internet monitoring, and sample purchasing), and illicit trade analytics.
  • Ensure appropriate knowledge of the risks and mitigating measures is communicated broadly, both to internal associates and where appropriate, externally to trading partners and customers.
  • A broad range of program development and execution data analytics and support of commercial strategies to prevent and manage risk, along with legal and enforcement approaches in partnership with the Law Department and Global Security. The role will also be responsible for leading communications internally to senior leaders and other stakeholders across the business, as well as externally.
  • In addition, the Senior Manager will participate as a subject matter expert on workgroups with industry representative organizations, to help amplify the impact of measures aimed to disrupt illicit trade.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, and MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of related experience is required.
  • Experience across a variety of functional areas is preferred; particularly in the areas of Marketing, Sales, Operations, Quality, Compliance, Finance and Legal backgrounds. International experience desirable.
  • Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or Consumer segment experience is preferred.
  • Prior Brand Protection experience is desirable.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong business partnering and communications abilities and well developed interpersonal skills, experienced in working in an unstructured, matrixed and fast paced multicultural environment across multiple functions with competing priorities.
  • Experience of managing and leading people / teams to achieve objectives, either formally or informally both internally and externally to the company.
  • A strong bias for results and solutions is important.Other key skills include the ability to influence both senior leaders and line management without formal authority, be detail-oriented while maintaining a big-picture perspective and maintain flexibility in a dynamic environment.
  • Project Management skills, such as FPX or other certifications is preferred.
  • Analytical skills; ability to consume, identify and act on data which may signal illicit trade
  • Must be able to understand, respect and work within the cultural diversity of the global environment.
  • The ability to make decisions in time sensitive situations, sometimes based on limited data and information, especially when participating as a subject matter expert on teams managing confirmed incidents of counterfeit, diversion or tampering.
  • Ability to develop business cases based on actionable, fact-based insight. This is a critical role as it must serve as a hub to coordinate, collaborate and execute across multiple global functional areas.
