IACC Hosts Virtual Training for over 200 HSI Officials

June 2, 2021

IACC Virtual Law Enforcement Training Summary

In Partnership with Homeland Security Investigations

May 11th and 18th, 2021

The IACC recently conducted two virtual training events in partnership with the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center (IPR Center). These training events attracted over 200 HSI agents involved in IP investigations from Boston to Hawaii. Focusing on the pharmaceutical sector, the program instructed agents on the latest information with counterfeit vaccines, PPE and current investigatory trends. A special presentation of our exclusive Law Enforcement Training App was presented, and we welcome those who registered.

Agents received instruction and interacted with brand representatives in lively Q&A sessions where questions were immediately answered by brand experts. These collaborative events between government and industry serve to strengthen enforcement and increase their ability to deter sales of counterfeit products and effectively interdict violators. The IACC continues to explore law enforcement training opportunities for its members.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Homeland Security Investigations, especially to our partners in the IPR Center for their assistance in organizing these events. The IACC thanks all members of law enforcement for their ongoing support. Our in-person training program will resume when restrictions at government facilities are lifted, and it is safe to do so.

What’s Next?
The next virtual IACC training will be with CBP for the Port of New York (JFK) on June 9th and 10th. We’re excited to host more than 40 rights-holders at this two-day training. Due to an overwhelming response from brands, the event is currently at full capacity.
