 September 21, 22 & 23

The IACC continued its virtual CBP training program with a three-day series of instruction for the Port of San Francisco. Over 60 brands from the Personal Care, Apparel & Footwear, Pharmaceuticals, Health & Safety, Electronics/Software/Hardware and Consumer Mass Marketing categories, presented to over 150 officials including CBP Officers, Import Specialists, FPF, Account Managers and Supervisors on the latest materials and trends in the fight against fakes. Additionally, we were happy to welcome Officers and Supervisors from the Customs Department of American Samoa.

Officials were provided the training agenda in advance, enabling them to schedule and attend presentation’s specific to the needs of their assignments. The timetable was maintained from the 9:00 am (PT) start to the 1:00 pm (PT) conclusion.  Brands wishing to submit their materials to the port’s database were accommodated.

CBP officials and rights holders also received a presentation of the IACC’s Law Enforcement Training App that enhances collaborative efforts between industry and law enforcement, allowing brand materials to be accessed from the field by law enforcement 24/7/365. Contact Mike Walsh mwalsh@iacc.org for more information.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the members of Customs Border Protection, especially the Port of San Francisco for their assistance in organizing this event.  The IACC supports and thanks all members of law enforcement for their ongoing service.

These collaborative events between government and industry serve to strengthen enforcement and increase their ability to deter sales of counterfeit products and effectively interdict violators. The IACC continues to explore training opportunities for its members and will announce them as they become available.
