IACC Newark Training Summary

IACC U.S. Law Enforcement IP Training Summary

Port of Newark, New Jersey

February 12, 2020

The IACC recently conducted a training event under the U.S. Law Enforcement IP Training Program at the Port of Newark in New Jersey. This program provides authorities throughout the country with the tools to act strategically in the detection and seizure of counterfeit goods.

Training was held at the CBP facility in Newark and provided an opportunity for over 85 CBP officers to view up to date information on product lines and known counterfeits of the 60 brands in attendance. Rights-holders provided individualized instruction to strengthen efforts and increase ability to deter sales of counterfeit products.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Customs Border Protection-Port of Newark for their assistance in organizing this event and to all members of law enforcement for their ongoing support.

The IACC also conducted hands on training of our exclusive Law Enforcement Training App, and distributed USB’s to participants.

As previously indicated, our training program is temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Training will resume when it is safe to do so, and an announcement will be sent to all our contacts.

For further information on our training program contact Michael Walsh mwalsh@iacc.org or Angelo Mazza aepmazza@gibney.com.
