IACC Law Enforcement Training Summary

Port of El Paso

July 26, 2023

The IACC recently conducted training under our Law Enforcement IP Training Program with Customs & Border Protection at the International Border Crossing, Port of El Paso. This program provides authorities throughout the country with the information and tools to act strategically in the detection and seizure of counterfeit goods.

Training was held at CBP’s port facility and trained 70 law enforcement officials who participated in our trade fair formatted event. Officials included representatives from Homeland Security Investigations, Agricultural Specialists, Food & Drug Administration, Regulatory Audit, Import and Entry Specialists, the Centers of Excellence and Expertise – Pharma, Petroleum, Electronics, Agriculture, Apparel, Footwear, Textiles and CBP Officers from the Port of St. Theresa, New Mexico. We had representatives of 49 brands sharing their expertise with hands-on product identification and individualized instruction designed to deter importation of counterfeit products.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the officials at the Port of El Paso for their assistance in organizing this event and including other agencies to strengthen enforcement activities and interdict violators. The IACC is a strong supporter of law enforcement.
